Pau Gasol went 0-12 in postseason games with the Memphis Grizzlies. Then he went 6-0 to start this postseason with the Lakers -- until he laid an egg Friday night in Game 3 against Utah, which beat the Lakers, 104-99.
Gasol had a team-high five turnovers and was visibly frustrated that he could not control the ball or benefit from referee rulings. He finished with 12 points, six rebounds and one assist -- and the Lakers fell short of the 100-point mark for the first time this postseason.
"They did a good job crowding him once he put the ball on the floor and tried to surround him," Kobe Bryant said of Utah's players. "We'll have to make our adjustments in this next game (Sunday) in terms of freeing him up a little bit."
JAZZ 104, LAKERS 99: Carlos Boozer broke out of slump in a major way Friday night to lead the Jazz to victory, cutting the Lakers' series lead to 2-1 in the Western Conference semifinals. Kobe Bryant's 34 points, seven assists and six rebounds weren't enough to overcome an error-prone Lakers offense and Boozer's thrust.
Utah's Deron Williams (18 points, 12 assists) did well getting the ball where it needed to go, and Jazz center Mehmet Okur started fast in a 22-point game. The Lakers were handicapped by Derek Fisher's early foul trouble, and fill-in Jordan Farmar shot 0 for 6 from the field.
The Lakers made some pushes in the fourth quarter, but Boozer came up big after Utah's lead got trimmed to three points. The Lakers shot just 5 for 23 from 3-point range and got beat on the boards for the third straight game (Utah had 35 rebounds to the Lakers' 32).

According to hoopshype.com the Lakers are "toying with the thought of bring back Kwame Brown" who is a free agent. Because of the departure of Ronny Turiaf to the
According to the OC Register, he has drawn some attention out there. Maybe this is why talks between the Lakers and him have been stagnant. If Sasha gets a ridiculous offer from Europe, I think we should cut ties with him. I love his tenacity, his range, his development and his heart but I think our 1offer at $2.6
What the Lakers need is a backup big man who can defend and rebound. That's all! Not score or pass. Just rebound and defend. Wait let me be more specific. A healthy big man who actually plays, HINT HINT Chris Mihm. What a waste of a roster spot for the last 3 years. I'm

The Lakers have decided not to match Golden States offer on this wonderful restricted free agent. I am dissapointed but understand. The Warriors signed the 25 year old back up Turiaf to a 4 year 17 million bargain and the Lakers chose not to match it because of thier depth
