--Kiki Vandeweghe is the new general manager of the Nets after being promoted from his position as special assistant to team president Rod Thorn.

"We are very pleased that Kiki will continue his relationship with the Nets' organization," said Thorn after naming Vandeweghe GM. "When Kiki joined us in December, I felt that his experience as both an All-Star player and front office executive would be an invaluable asset to both myself and the franchise, and his work in the ensuing months has reinforced that belief."

--It might have seemed like an isolated incident at the time, but a hideously dangerous trend that plagued the Nets all season surfaced in just the second game. After playing Toronto to a 21-21 first quarter tie, the Nets were belted by a 35-20 second quarter. How did they respond? By being outscored 50-28 in the second half to suffer their worst beating of the season, 106-69. The Nets' "glass jaw" made its first significant appearance.

"Yeah, too many times that happened and I don't have an answer for it. I wish I did," said Bostjan Nachbar. "It was just toward the end of the season, throughout the whole season it (happened), where we'd play well for 35 minutes, and they'd deliver a punch and we wouldn't respond to it. That was one of our weaknesses throughout the whole season."

--Lawrence Frank suffered through the worst season of his four-and-a-half season career. Some publicly called for his head. But team president Rod Thorn, repeatedly stood by Frank and deflected all suggestions of a dismissal.

"He's not the one missing shots," Thorn said on one occasion.

Still, Frank could be on a short leash next season, despite the $8-plus million, two-year extension he signed last summer.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"We're disappointed because we feel we were talented enough to finish the season off better than we did so there was disappointment. But we feel with some time together we'll be better than what we've shown." -- F Richard Jefferson, on the disappointment of being eliminated from the playoffs while maintaining that with a training camp together, the revamped Nets can be significantly improved.

I have wanted Kidd off this team for almost a full year now and I am so glad he is finally gone.  The team looks so much looser and happier without him here, not to mention the effort they played with that we have not seen all year long.  I am so glad I don't have to ever see that whiney, headache faking, wife beating, woman groping, selfish, quitter in a ...(more)

I can see that sman1965 bothers almost every team on their message board. While trash talking is fun, just seeing this guys posts makes me fell like I am back in the 3rd grade.

I am proposing a boycott of any thread he starts, and to any posts he makes on other threads as well...

Maybe he will start to talk smart sports conversation or maybe he will jus ...(more)

(POLL) I was just looking at the Nets' roster and I saw that Nenad Kristic is only 24 (He'll be 25 in July). I originally thought that we should part with him, but considering his age and being that he had a great season before he got hurt in 06-07, and a great season in 05-06, I think we should be bring him back.

My only c

I think the Nets should keep Kiki Vandeweghe. He played a big role in the Kidd trade for Harris and I think with a big off-season coming for the Nets, he be great to have on board  for trades (maybe Carter?), free-agent signings and drafting. A good front office will help turn this thing around a lot sooner then later (look a ...(more)

This site rocks.  You get a free starting balance to bet on any games.  If you work it up to $10 or more, you can cash it out and get a check in the mail.  There are no catches and NO DEPOSITING is even allowed on the site.  If you lose your first bet, you don't even go to zero balance.  They give you your starting kitty over and over again.  This is a lot of f ...(more)

Heres a list of big men coming out on draft day.  We need one of these guys to bulk up our middle.

Brooke Lopez 7ft 245lbs......Very smooth big man who can play both ends.  Probably would have taken Stanford a lot further if their guards were better.

Kevin Love 6ft 9 255lbs......Very good on both ends of the court and can step out and nail a jumper.  Probably proj ...(more)

We'll be drafting 2 young guys this year and he's terrible with rookies.  Can we please fire him and get Marc Jackson.  Listening to him during games really makes me believe he gets it.  He'd be great for this team.

(POLL) Everyone wants to talk about our lottery pick, but who do you think we should get at 21?

I took the 7 picks surrounding ESPN's rankings for the choices.

P.S. (I'm hoping Chase Budinger drops)

I say the Nets trade up with our stock pile of draft picks and deep bench and draft the beast from Kansas State known as Mike Beasley..... this kid would look good in a Nets jersey and along with RJ,Harris,VC this team could be scary!!!!

We are a very young team at this point besides VC.  We have plenty of time to grow next year.  We can really help this team out in the draft.  The only two things we should be looking at is a BIG MAN and a SHOOTER.

Hibberts stock is falling like sub-prime mortgages right now.  I think he may be available in the teens for us.  If he is too scary for us we can

WE have a great chance at another win tonight against the Pacers. We just beat them a couple of nights ago. Any predictions or keys to victory. I'm hoping Devin Harris keeps playing great and i think we will have a chance.
