--While he still has a position with the Knicks, exiled head coach Isiah Thomas will not have much of a say into what goes on. He's not likely to have much contact with the players, either.
"I value his opinion, so I will use him as a resource," team president Donnie Walsh said recently. Thomas is not a popular figure in New York right now, so the organization will go to great lengths to make sure he's not seen or heard.
--Former Knicks centerpiece Patrick Ewing seems a little put off that nobody from the organization has called him up to interview as a head coach candidate. He spoke of the disappointment with John Thompson during a TNT interview.
"Obviously, I played in New York," Ewing said. "I know the area. I know the team. I know the fans. I know everybody. I know the media. So, naturally, I would have loved to interview."
The Orlando Magic assistant got a big endorsement from Stan Van Gundy, but he apparently did not contact Knicks president Donnie Walsh.
QUOTE TO NOTE "It's a bad situation for the city. What he's done in the past five years for the team has been garbage." -- Former Knick Charles Oakley, on the legacy Isiah Thomas established in New York.

So the worse we are this year, the better our

Walsh still has some work to do with the roster (getting rid of Randolph and/or Curry contracts). I'm not overly thrilled about handing the team over to Duhon, but he's a defensive minded PG who can knock down a jumper. I still believe Marbury is the best option for this season (D'Antoni's system will take advantage of all his strengths). You always get the bes
