Spurs report: Roster
ROTATION PLAYER NOTES --F Tim Duncan recorded a third consecutive double-double with 10 points and 23 rebounds in Tuesday's Game 5 loss at New Orleans, but he continued a disturbing trend in the Spurs' road games in the series. He has averaged just 11.0 points in the three losses at New Orleans, shooting 31.6 percent in those games. In the two wins at home, he poured in 19.0 points per night, shooting 61.5 percent. Duncan fell into a similar pattern in the five-game victory over the Suns in Round 1, averaging 27.5 points and shooting 52.9 percent in the wins as opposed to only 14 points on 33.3 percent shooting in the lone loss at Phoenix. --G Tony Parker once again nearly kept pace with counterpart Chris Paul in points in Game 5, getting outscored just 22-18, but fell well short in assists, 14-4. The winner in the Parker-Paul battle in assists has dictated the game winner in each of the five games. Paul has held a 13-5, 12-3 and 14-4 advantage in the three Hornets wins; Parker has gotten the better of the assists 11-9 and 8-5 in the two Spurs victories. --G Manu Ginobili led the Spurs with 20 points, nearly half of which resulted from 3-for-7 shooting from beyond the 3-point arc. The left-hander has attempted at least five 3's in every game. Tuesday was the first time he made more than one-third of his attempts. --G Michael Finley had his second consecutive horrible game in New Orleans, contributing almost nothing (two points on 1-for-6 shooting) in the Game 5 loss. Like Duncan, Finley has struggled in all three road games in the series, shooting 8-for-24 and totaling 19 points, and has been a positive factor at home, going 9-for-14 and accounting for 23 points.
