Bruce rejoins Martz in San Fran: Receiver Isaac Bruce agreed to a two-year deal with the 49ers on Friday night, one day after the Rams released one of the most prolific receivers in NFL history. An NFL source, speaking on condition of anonymity because the contract hadn't been signed yet, said Bruce chose to stay in the NFC West with the 49ers, bolstering one of the league's worst receiving corps after 14 seasons with the Rams. The deal is worth $6 million. Bruce will be reunited with 49ers offensive coordinator Mike Martz, who ran the Rams' offense during the team's two most recent trips to the Super Bowl. (Updated 03/03/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Bruce played in 14 games, catching 55 passes for 733 yards (13.3 avg.) with four touchdowns with the Rams last season. Bruce continued to play well mostly in divisional matchups and indoor games. But Bruce will be 36 when the '08 season starts and 37 when it ends. Even though he'll be playing in a system he's familiar with, he'll still be playing outdoors most weeks and just cannot be relied upon to produce with the personnel the 49ers have. Bruce is no better than a reserve Fantasy WR in 2008. (Updated 03/03/2008).
