The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that Saints RB Deuce McAllister worked at full speed on pass routes during the team's recent minicamp, cutting and planting on his left knee for about tthree weeks after tearing his ACL early on in 2007. McAllister is not worried about the Saints meeting with free-agent RB Shaun Alexander. "I anticipate they'll continue to look at veteran running backs," McAllister said. "They have to have some protection just in case there are any setbacks with my rehab, even though there haven't been any. It never hurts to have a Plan B." (Updated 05/07/2008).
Injury Report
Knees - Questionable for the start of 2008 training camp (Updated - 4/17/08)
Fantasy Analysis
After reconstructive surgery two years ago, he returned to rush for 1,057 yards in 2006, helping the Saints to the NFC South title and starring in their playoff victory over Philadelphia. He will be 29 when the season starts with just over 1,300 carries on his odometer. We expect to see him at training camp. Consider him a low-end No. 3 Fantasy RB option with lots of upside as well as injury risk. When healthy, he's a great generator of production for the Saints and for his Fantasy owners.
