Quarterback David Garrard has signed a contract extension with the Jaguars. Terms of Monday's deal were not released. But Garrard and his agent, Albert Irby, had been looking for something similar to the six-year, $67.5 million contract Dallas QB Tony Romo signed last season. The 30-year-old Garrard is coming off his best season, completing 64 percent of his passes for 2,509 yards and 18 touchdowns despite missing three games because of an ankle injury. He threw just three interceptions. (Updated 04/07/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
With Jacksonville improving its receiving corps (Jerry Porter and Troy Williamson are additions; Ernest Wilford is gone), Garrard has plenty of talent around him to post even better numbers in 2008, though the motivation of a big contract is now in the rearview. Nevertheless, figure Garrard to be a low-end No. 1/top-end No. 2 Fantasy QB, perfect for platoon duty. Grab him with a middle-round pick in all 2008 drafts. (Updated 04/07/2008).
