Panthers DL Julius Peppers spent his fifth straight practice Sunday at right defensive end, a new position for him. It's pretty clear the Panthers plan to keep him there, reports the Carolina Growl. (Updated 05/05/2008).
Injury Report
Knee - Probable for the start of 2008 training camp (Updated - 1/11/08)
Fantasy Analysis
After totaling 11, 10.5 and 13 sacks in his previous three seasons, Panthers DE Julius Peppers notched just 2.5 sacks in 2007. Peppers' 2007 season ended two games early when he was put on Injured Reserve with a sprained MCL in his right knee. He appears healthy and should return to prominence in his new role. Consider him a No. 2 Fantasy DL in IDP leagues in 2008. (Updated 05/05/2008).
DE Julius Peppers might have a new home. The Panthers are experimenting in offseason workouts with Peppers at right defensive end, where the now-retired Mike Rucker had played opposite Peppers, who has been a left end for six seasons. "We look at a lot of things in the offseason," coach John Fox said. "You never stay the same, whether it's personnel or even schemes, offense, defense or special teams. We're going to try him at right a little bit. We had Mike Rucker there ever since we've had Julius. That's changed now, so we're just taking a look at him over there." 05/08/2008
