The New York Daily News reports that the Seattle Seahawks have shown interest in Giants TE Jeremy Shockey, adding to the possibility of the former Pro-Bowl TE getting traded for draft picks. Previously, the Giants rebuffed an offer of a second-round pick from the New Orleans Saints for Shockey. The Saints remain interested in Shockey. (Updated 04/23/2008).
Injury Report
Leg - Probable for the start of 2008 training camp (Updated - 2/13/08)
Fantasy Analysis
Last year, Shockey had 57 catches for 619 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games before he broke his leg. He'd still be the Giants' starter if he's with the club in 2008, but he will likely lose some catches to second-year TE Kevin Boss. If he signs elsewhere, though, his upside is greater since he wouldn't be sharing the receiving duties with any other tight ends. We would be tickled if he ended up with Seattle. Go into 2008 with Shockey as a low-end No. 1 Fantasy TE and hope he can return to his elite status wherever he ends up. We'll cover the news on Shockey as it develops. (Updated 04/23/2008).
TE Jeremy Shockey continues to be rumored as a trade target of the Saints. New Orleans reportedly came close to a deal for the Pro Bowl tight end who missed the final six games, including all four postseason wins, last season. But the Saints, reports indicate, held firm that they wouldn't include safety Roman Harper plus a draft choice. Now the Saints are said to be considering two 2009 draft choices. 05/08/2008
