The Miami Dolphins resigned safety Yeremiah Bell to a one-year contract Monday. Bell, who turned 30 Monday, is entering his fifth NFL season after the Dolphins made him a sixth-round draft choice in 2003. In his previous four campaigns, he has played in 46 games, including 12 starts. During that time, the 6-0, 200-pounder has totaled 96 tackles, five sacks, an interception, three fumble recoveries and three forced fumbles. He was limited to one game last year after sustaining a ruptured left Achilles’ tendon in the season-opener at Washington on September 9. He turned in the best season of his career in 2006 when he started 11 of the 16 games in which he played and recorded 65 tackles, two sacks, two fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles.
