Former Jaguars and Falcons QB Byron Leftwich told CBSSports.com NFL Writer Pete Prisco that he's surprised he's not signed on with another club, but expects to find a new home soon. Teams appear to be shying away from Leftwich because of his injury history (both ankles have been hurt). "I know I'll get on somewhere," Leftwich told Prisco. "As long as it's not football season, I'm not going to worry that much. I want to get somewhere before the draft so I can have time to learn a new system. ... I just want to get back in, get a chance to show what I can do." (Updated 03/18/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
After being cut before the start of the regular season in Jacksonville, Leftwich signed on with the Falcons in Week 3. He didn't play until Week 5 and started in Week 6. He got hurt, then came back to start in Week 11 and didn't play in another game the rest of the season. In his audition to be the Falcons' future quarterback, Leftwich completed 32-of-58 passes (55.2 pct.) for 279 yards with one touchdown, two interceptions and two fumbles lost in three total appearances. He still has a strong arm but is clearly injury-prone and immobile in the pocket. We're sure that he'll sign somewhere too, but most likely as a backup. Don't spend a draft pick on Leftwich in 2008 Fantasy drafts. (Updated 03/18/2008).
