The Houston Texans signed free agent RB Chris Brown on Thursday. Brown appeared in 12 games last season for the Tennessee Titans and finished with 462 yards rushing and five touchdowns. He was taken by the Titans in the third round of the 2003 draft and ran for 2,757 yards and 16 TDs in five seasons with Tennessee. He'll join Ahman Green at running back with the Texans and his signing could mean the end of Ron Dayne's tenure in Houston. Green is expected to be healthy this season after missing nine games in 2007 and finishing with 70 carries for 260 yards. The Texans have not resigned Dayne, an unrestricted free agent who led the team in rushing the last two seasons. (Updated 03/14/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Look for Brown to aid Green in the Texans' running game, which happens to run a scheme very familiar to Brown. In college, Brown ran in the one-cut running offense as created by O-line coach Alex Gibbs, who is now with the Texans. Brown was highly successful in college but struggled a little bit at the pro level adjusting to the new blocking formation. Brown now has increased Fantasy value heading into 2008 since Green is often hurt. He should be viewed as a No. 4 Fantasy option but is well worth taking in the later rounds as a potential No. 3 RB sleeper. (Updated 03/14/2008).
