WR Jones charged with misdemeanor: Tennessee Titans receiver Brandon Jones faces a misdemeanor charge for unlawful possession of a handgun after trying to carry the weapon through a security checkpoint in his bag. Mary Margaret Miller, a spokeswoman for Nashville International Airport, said Jones was issued a citation for carrying a loaded .32 caliber gun in his baggage Friday morning. He issued a statement through his agent, Craig Domann, apologizing to the Titans, his teammates and his family for any embarrassment the incident caused them. A team spokesman said the Titans were aware of the incident and had no comment. Jones only played in nine games in 2007 and ended his year on injured reserve because of a hurt groin. Jones, who was a breakout candidate because 2007 was his third year, finished the season with 21 catches for 248 yards and two touchdowns. Jones will look to improve on his career in 2008 under new offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger, but is nothing more than a late-round Fantasy flier in the deepest of leagues.
