Vikings RB Adrian Peterson exceeded all expectations in 2007, rushing 238 times for 1,341 yards (5.6 avg.) with 12 rush TDs, adding 19 catches for 268 yards with a receiving score with three fumbles lost. Not bad totals for a player who not only saw action in 14 games but split carries with veteran Chester Taylor. The rookie from Oklahoma had 103 rush yards in his first week, 100-plus-total-yards in his first five games and two games with over 220 rush yards and three scores in each, including an NFL-record 296 rush yards vs. San Diego in Week 9. He sprained his knee in Week 10 and missed two games with it but came back the very next week and ran well. Aside from a couple of hiccups toward the end of the season, Peterson was more than reliable as a No. 1 Fantasy RB. (Updated 01/23/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Peterson literally carried this offense in 2007; without him, they would have had a hard time being such a dominant running squad. It's obvious that he'll be involved in the offense again in 2008, but there are two key questions: Will he still split reps with Chester Taylor? And, can he stay healthy for 16 games? Either way, expect Peterson to take on a little more work next season and be an asset for all Fantasy owners. He said he is going to spend the offseason looking at film and studying eight- and nine-man fronts. He'll be a top-10 pick in all 2008 drafts. (Updated 01/23/2008).
