Morgan is nothing more than a high-risk, low-reward Fantasy LB that is not even close to a lock to play eight games, much less 16. Don't spend a valuable draft pick on him in 2008. (Updated 03/07/2008)
We were reminded quickly just how vital Delhomme was to the Panthers' success. With him, they were a powerful offense capable of posting plenty of points. Without him, they were a disaster. No one knew this fact more than Steve Smith, who scored four of his seven touchdowns with Delhomme under center. He'll be entering his 10th NFL season, but just his sixth as a starting QB (technically his fifth; he was the Panthers backup QB for half a game in 2003). Delhomme has been beaten up over the last two years, but expect him to play healthy behind a good offensive line in 2008, making him quite a sleeper as a top-end No. 2 Fantasy QB worth a middle- to late-round pick in drafts. If that arm comes around, watch out! (Updated 05/05/2008)
After totaling 11, 10.5 and 13 sacks in his previous three seasons, Panthers DE Julius Peppers notched just 2.5 sacks in 2007. Peppers' 2007 season ended two games early when he was put on Injured Reserve with a sprained MCL in his right knee. He appears healthy and should return to prominence in his new role. Consider him a No. 2 Fantasy DL in IDP leagues in 2008. (Updated 05/05/2008)
Basanez has spent the last six months rehabbing and is expected to compete for a spot along the Panthers' QB depth chart in 2008. Do not expect him to be of much help Fantasywise next season until he finds regular playing time. (Updated 01/10/2008)
