Last year, McDonald had 79 catches for 943 yards (11.9 avg.) and six touchdowns with two fumbles lost. McDonald led Detroit receivers in catches, yards and touchdowns in '07. Keep an eye on what happens with McDonald and hope he is OK. McDonald will be a low-end No. 3 Fantasy WR in 2008 and will enter the season as the No. 3 option for the Lions behind Roy Williams and Calvin Johnson. (Updated 05/05/2008)
The Lions aren't giving up on Calhoun. NFL Network had reported that the Lions might give him reps next season until Kevin Jones is healthy enough to return from his own torn ACL. The only way anyone should draft Calhoun is if he has a monster preseason and is running like there's never been anything wrong with him. That unlikely scenario would make him a middle- to late-round pick in drafts. Otherwise, he's not worth a look at this point. (Updated 01/18/2008)
It sounds like Williams is ready to go. The offensive creativity without coordinator Mike Martz, who Williams loved playing for, will be gone. But Williams, playing for a contract, should still thrive. Consider him a solid No. 2 Fantasy option and hope he can remain productive without Martz. (Updated 05/08/2008)
Last year, Jones had 10 starts in 13 games, running 153 times for 581 yards (3.8 avg.) and eight touchdowns with 33 catches for 199 yards (6.0 avg.) with one fumble, but had eight games with 11 or fewer carries. He is not expected to make an impact early in 2008, but he might be worth spending a late-round pick on in all leagues, especially if he signs with a team where he has a chance to get carries.
