Indianapolis Colts officials had few comments after hearing reports that veteran wide receiver Marvin Harrison is under investigation for his involvement in a shooting that took place in his hometown of Philadelphia. The shooting reportedly occurred outside a North Philadelphia bar owned by Harrison.

Colts coach Tony Dungy was asked about the reports near the end of a press conference last week, which had initially been scheduled to talk about the first day of the team's rookie minicamp.

"My phone has been ringing too. I really don't have any details. I don't know what 'involved' means. I probably don't have any more information than you do right now," Dungy said.

Team president Bill Polian didn't have much more to say about the incident.

"We have no credible information at this time, and we will not comment until we do," Polian said in a prepared statement released by the Colts.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the league is aware of the report and was looking into it. Harrison's agent, Tom Condon, has not commented on the situation.

During a press conference last week, Lt. Frank Vanore of the Philadelphia Public Affairs Unit said that Harrison was cooperating fully with authorities.

"First of all, there was a shooting that occurred on April 29 around 5 p.m.," Vanore said. "That shooting occurred and the Philadelphia police are investigating it. As a result of that shooting, there were a couple people that received injuries. The injuries were not life threatening. There's a male with injuries to his hand. There's another, a child, that received some glass shattering in his eye. He was treated and released at a local hospital. And at this time, and I want to repeat this, we have no suspects. And there are no charges in this shooting investigation."

"We're interviewing all the witnesses and everybody that we believe may have been in the area or possibly could have been in the area. And detectives are still in the process of doing that. It's an open investigation. We have no charges and there are no suspects at this time."

As to Harrison's role in the shooting, that's still to be determined.

"I can tell you that he was interviewed, why he was interviewed, that's all part of the investigation, no one is a suspect at this point," Vanore continued. We're interviewing anyone we think may have been in the area and there were interviews done. We're looking to do more interviews."

Vanore said he couldn't go into detail regarding the weapon.

"That's part of the investigation and I don't have any details like that," he said. "As part of the investigation, we did interviews. Mr. Harrison was interviewed as part of the investigation. That's all we have at this point. I don't have anything on the details of the investigation. He's from that area and he was interviewed as part of this investigation. We're interviewing a lot of people."

For fantasy owners in seasonal leagues it might be too early for a rookie analysis, but for the keeper and/or dynasty league player it is never too early to start looking for talent. Below will be the top projected players at the running back position that should do well this year and those that might not have potential to have an impact. The draft pick (whether that was high or low) has no bearin ...(more)

Great news that they re-signed him.  I believe when Bethea's contract is up they'll let him walk for the big money and Girodano will quietly step in at the starting role.  The dude is lightning fast and he plays a lot like Bpb Sanders.  I love Bethea, but I am excited for when Giordano gets his chance. He's fun to watch.

(and he can play special teams!)

Hear me out. I am a diehard Colts fan. I am a diehard Harrison fan. I have read a lot of supportive posts, on this and other message boards. I have read a lot of posts calling out Marv. Obviously a lot of Colts fans are saying to hold tight and wait for the "truth" to come out. But haven't we been quick to call some one or some teams out i ...(more)

They say Mike Hart is slow.  Well watch this video and define the term "slow" for me.  He may not have great straight line speed, but this kid can move.  Notice not only how powerful he is for his size, but his cut back ability, vision,  and burst through the whole is uncanny.  Plus, he is very shifty back as well.  This is EXACTLY the kind of back the ...(more)

This video symbolizes how much of a competitor Peyton is and why I admire the guy. I think he can be an awesome coach someday after he's done playing.

(POLL) Totlbstrd is a fat man and a drug addict, and he is gay, and he will be living on the street, and he will be killed in a violent shootout, will be grinded into food, and will suffer his entire life, and cannot get over the fact that the Colts lost to the Chargers, and will have ever ...(more)
