--Lamar Hunt, the Chiefs founder who died last December, was inducted into the inaugural class of the SMU Athletics Hall of Fame along with Forrest Gregg, golfer Payne Stewart and swimmer Martina Moravoca.

Though on a three-year reserve end for SMU during his collegiate days, Hunt became one of the school's most prominent alumni though his work in the old AFL and NFL, as well as helping establish an American professional league in soccer and an international tour in tennis.

--The Chiefs, who once maintained a long waiting list for the purchase of season tickets, now are involved in an intense marketing campaign that includes half-season ticket packages.

The club is offering one package for games with Arizona (preseason), Oakland, Tennessee, New Orleans and San Diego with another featuring St. Louis (preseason), Denver, Tampa Bay, Buffalo and Miami.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"Can you get everything you want in the draft? No, but we got a lot. We got some tight ends. We got another runner. The problem is they're all young, but that's OK." -- Chiefs coach Herm Edwards, on some second-day pickups -- specifically tight end Brad Cottam and running back Jamaal Charles -- who might help the team's depth situation immediately.

Pat Kirwan just posted an interesting article on the www.nfl.com website.  I believe it is entitled "Super-Sized" or something like that.

It is about offenses reverting to the power running game to take advantage of the current trend of smaller, quicker defenses, including two (blocking) tightend sets, big lineman, a bruising fullback  ...(more)

Last season (if my memory serves), the Chiefs roster had an average age of just over 30.

Taking a look at the roster a few days ago, and prior to undrafted free agent signings - which only makes the roster younger - the 70 players had an average age of 25.6.  In fact, there are only 9 players who are 30 years of age o ...(more)

What are the top 3 things that - standing alone - could determine whether the Chiefs are in the playoff hunt or completely out of it?  I rank them in the following order:

1.  Brodie Croyle:  Even if LJ gets hurt again we have Smith & Char

Very very hard. G. Dorsey is a very big and very fast player who quickly gets off the ball and isn't scared to make a play . I would'nt be supprised too see if he is the player of the game, in  the first game of the year.

I'm starting to think this year, the offence could be more exciting too watch than the last few. I love the tripple threat at RB, and WR is getti ...(more)

I know this is a Chiefs board, but were in the time off year that it is a football droubt.  We're getting into the heart of race season.  I was just wondering if there are any Jr fans on here.  If so what are some of your thoughts on his season after the switch to Hendrick.

I personally love the move, bu ...(more)
