--WR Troy Brown played just one game in his 15th season after starting the year on PUP. He may retire, but if he doesn't the team told him that he's not in its plans moving forward.

--S Mel Mitchell played in 10 games and is a core special teams-type guy. He might choose to go elsewhere as New England only has room for so many one-dimensional special teamers.

--CB Chad Scott didn't make it through training camp and has been hurt often. He's a solid veteran backup and could be back with the team in the market for corner depth.

--LB Junior Seau was expected to get his first Super Bowl ring and retire. The Giants messed that little story up. He was healthy all year and made plays. If he doesn't retire after his 18th season, the only place he'll be playing is in New England.

Burning questions for '08 (and 09)...

  • Will Tom Brady and Randy Moss repeat their accomplishments of last year? Moss said that he and Brady have some unfinished business. Will Moss keep playing with heart like last year, or will he get ...(more)

(POLL) Could Arlen Specter be the source of punishment for the Patriots?

Obviously, I don't mean that he would be sending down the fines/suspension/etc, but could he be the reason why Goddell feels forced to?

He seems to be a fairly big thorn in Goddell right now. He also doesn't seem to impressed that the NFL has

The team sucks for most of its existence, then we find out that they cheated to win.  It's sad that Pats fans are rationalizing this by saying that "nothing new was found."  Your team made a habit of cheating.  Everyone knew it, and now it's confirmed.  Where do you guys get off defending that "nothing new happened"?  Does that make you feel ...(more)

I'm seeing various things on various message boards, intimating that Roger Goodell is part of a conspiracy within the NFL to elevate the New England Patriots to an undeserved position as best in the NFL. Obviously, this is preposterous, for various reasons, such as the fact that the Patriots are the best team in the AFC right now, an ...(more)

I can't believe how could you "defend" what you know it's wrong, there are tapes that show that your team cheat. I'm not a hater, is just a shame that something was wrong and that we are accepting this happens.

I think that you guys have maybe the most significant nickname of every sport, Patriot means "a person that has love of his country and is willing to ...(more)

How can you guys  "proudly" defend a team that is proved that cheat in games. I'm not a hater, just someone that can't believe that a team called the Patriots do that. I'm no telling you stop cheering for your team, just don't say it's ok what they did.

Patriot means a person that loves its  ...(more)

It looks like Billy Boy and his Merry Band of Cheaters may have been taping offensive signals as well. It appears they cheated in the 2002 AFC Championship game as well. This has clearly turned into one of the biggest scandals in sports history. Hopefully Commissioner Goddell steps up and takes the necessary measures. By ...(more)
