--An oddity to the Giants' 2008 schedule is that they are going to play the Cleveland Browns twice, and both times on Monday night. The catch? The first is an ESPN summertime adventure at Giants Stadium on Aug. 18; the second is for real, in Cleveland on Oct. 13.

--The Giants, who already had five quarterbacks on the roster (Eli Manning, Jared Lorenzen, David Carr, Anthony Wright and the draft choice Andre Woodson) have added yet a sixth -- free agent rookie Willie Copeland of Valdosta State (Ga.). They haven't actually signed him -- he was invited to the rookie minicamp that will be held this weekend. In fact, he was in a similar camp last weekend in Miami but the Dolphins allowed him to walk.

--Latest indications are that veteran DE Michael Strahan, who has spent his entire 15-year career with the Giants, is going to retire. He almost did last year, took one more shot at a Super Bowl ring and, lo and behold, it worked. He is said to be the favorite to join the FOX network if he walks away from the game.

--Reports say that OLT Guy Whimper, a three-year veteran, has made "tremendous strides" and is ready to compete with David Diehl for the position. If he wins, Diehl will go back to left guard, where he would be an improvement over reliable journeyman Rich Seubert.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"Why did (Andre) Woodson last so long (sixth round)? Why did Tom Brady? You never know. A lot of guys get overlooked. How many guys in this league were free agents and they are really good players?" -- Giants' GM Jerry Reese on the inexact science of the draft selection process.

Do you think that when Bill Parcells spoke to Romo the first thing he told him was to stay out of the lime light? Boy what a mess he his making of his image. He seems to be on the news every week or so.

I know it doesnt really mean anything, but in the 1st rankings this year on ESPN, the Giants were #6. in my opinion, I thought that was a little low. I'm not gonna go off the deep end and say we should have been #1, but I figured at least top 5. these are the teams ranked ahead of us:

Three teenagers in Texas have been accused of digging up a corpse and using the skull to smoke marijuana.

"They made the confession to officers then guided them to the graveyard in isolated woodland in Harris County.

The three teenagers, two aged 17 and one aged 16, said they had taken the skull from the corpse to use it as a 'bong' to smoke drugs.

(POLL) Fortunately the Giants have plenty of depth at WR right now, and then the Giants have to make some cuts to get down to 53. So who isn't going to be here for the 08-09 season? I can't wait till this season, and especially the pre-season to see what some of these young guys can do.

Hard to narrow it down to one, but all time favorite would have to be LT because he was a game changer and changed football's defensive and offensive landscape.  Defense because he redefined his position and offense because they had to find a way to deal with him.

Favorite moments:  The Catch 42 obviously, Jim Burt hit on Montana in a playoff game and the Ga ...(more)
