--Kevin Kolb, the 2007 second-round pick who spent most of his rookie season as the No. 3 quarterback behind starter Donovan McNabb and backup A.J. Feeley, took most of the snaps with the No. 2 offense at the team's minicamp last weekend. Asked whether Kolb was ready to be the team's No. 2 quarterback, offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg said: "We'll see. He's working hard, both mentally and physically. He's continued to impress and he's continued to get better in every phase, and I would expect him to play well through these camps and into the preseason. But A.J.'s a veteran that's won games in this league and has done a nice job in many situation for us. So there's a pretty good competition going on there."

--McNabb sat out the Eagles' final minicamp practice. Reid said he was on a pitch count at the minicamp and reached his limit the day before. The coach insisted the quarterback's arm was fine.

--Running back Brian Westbrook has a league-high 694 touches over the last two seasons, including 372 last year. The Eagles traded for another running back, Lorenzo Booker, on draft day. But Westbrook said he's not interested in having his load lightened. "I wouldn't mind it being the same," he said. "I think I've been very productive with the ball in my hands with that many touches. I think I can continue to do that."

--Rookie DeSean Jackson, who is the leading candidate for the punt return job next season, struggled catching Sav Rocca's punts in the first couple of minicamp practices last weekend. "I think the biggest difference (between the NFL and college) is how high the punts get in the air, the hang time," he said. "You just have to focus a lot. Basically, you have to get a good jump on the ball, just make a good read. The more punts I catch, the better I'll get at it."

QUOTE TO NOTE
"I thought you (media) guys struggled to find a positive story. You did a good job finding the negative ones, but there are plenty of positive ones that you could find out there. There are some good young players that you could really focus in on and look at." -- Andy Reid chastising the media at his final minicamp news conference

I see the birds have made it a priority to acquire a solid number 1 wide receiver this offseason by going after both Larry Fitzgerald and Randy Moss.  If  they don't get a big name through a trade(rumored to be looking at ...(more)

I have been reading alot about Jackson, and if (BIG IF though) the kid has his head screwed on right, the Eagles stole him at 49.  I would think he will be used in specific pages in the beginning that will get him isolated 1 on 1 with a CB.  With his quickness and speed the CB will have to give him room to operate.

Cut it, Print it, Ship it. My sources say deal's as good as done. Eagles are officially in rebuilding mode, stockpiling draft picks for some day years down the road. I wonder who the coach will be.

I'm not the type of person to start or spread rumors never have never will be. After reading D-Mac's blog I really think that after June 1st we will go after Chad Johnson. I know alot of us are cautious about Chad after the great T.O. debacle, but having him on the team will make us into an instant Super Bowl contende ...(more)

(POLL) At Which Spot Are Eagles Deepest?

RB: Brian, Booker, Buck are a nice trio - toss in Hunt and or Moats

CB: Lito, Asante, Brown, Hanson - could end up being near the very top in the league this year if your ranking corner groups

D-Line: Bunk, Patterson, Laws, Cole, Clemons, others - deep at tackle now - we've also got young speed ...(more)
