--Viewers who saw ESPN's "My Wish" series last week saw Akeem Havens, 14, take a handoff from Ben Roethlisberger and run through the heart of the Steelers' defense on his wheelchair for a touchdown that was greeted with yelps from the players.

Havens, a paraplegic from Georgia, fulfilled a dream through the Make-A-Wish Foundation to spend a day with Roethlisberger and the Steelers. He watched practice, talked to players, had lunch and played video games with Roethlisberger and scored that touchdown.

"To think his one wish was to come hang out with us is touching," Roethlisberger said. "So many days we come out here and we don't want to be here and he wants to be here. It's just awesome to help him out and put a smile on his face."

--The Steelers' defensive playbook has expanded to include more motions and blitzes.

"We have to put guys in position to highlight their skills and let them go," Mike Tomlin said.

"I think our defense is definitely capable of a large playbook where we have all kinds of things that we can throw at an offense," DE Brett Keisel said.

--Allegheny County Controller Mark Patrick Flaherty said the state and county may try to recoup some of their $281 million to build Heinz Field if the Rooneys sell the team.

"The taxpayers of Allegheny County and the State of Pennsylvania provided the funds dedicated to the construction of the Stadium based on the agreement that the Steelers remain in Pittsburgh with the Steelers Family," Flaherty wrote in a letter mailed to the Steelers' owners.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"We look at our campus as a canvas where the Steelers begin the creation each year of a masterpiece at this camp." -- Saint Vincent College President Jim Towey.

His policy with suspect hits is if they aren't hurt it's no big deal. The Rogers hit on Ben was worse then Eric Smith hitting Boldin but Smith got the heavy penalty because Boldin got hurt. He wasn't trying to lead with his head and his intentions weren't to hurt and his hit ...(more)
