Jason Pociask
News
Jets TE Jason Pociask appeared in four games in 2007 and only had one catch for 7 yards. Pociask is one of three backup TEs for the Jets, including Joe Kowalewski and Sean Ryan, behind starter Chris Baker.
Vernon Gholston
News
With the No. 6 pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the New York Jets selected DE/OLB Vernon Gholston. Gholston was a monster in college, and the perception in the pros is that he will be able to line up all over the place and blitz the passer. Moreover, Gholston will now take on Dolphins OT Jake Long twice a year, and Gholston dominated Long in college.
Chansi Stuckey
News
On Wednesday, the Jets placed rookie WR Chansi Stuckey on injured reserve with a knee injury. The team also released DB Raymond Ventrone from the practice squad and signed DB Abram Elam to the active roster. Stuckey, injury-prone throughout his college career at Clemson, injured his right foot last week and was inactive for the season opener against the Patriots. The nature and severity of the injury wasn't immediately known. Coach Eric Mangini said it was the same foot he broke in his senior year of college, but a different injury. "It was something that came up last week that when we tested it, it just wasn't going to get any better, so we put him on IR," Mangini said.
E.J. Underwood
News
The Buffalo Bills signed six players Thursday, including five who finished the season on the team's practice squad. Among the players re-signed were fullback Jonathan Evans, receiver Felton Huggins, cornerback E.J. Underwood and defensive end Shaun Nua. The Bills also signed defensive back Jon Corto, who spent part of the season on their practice squad.

David Clowney
News
On Tuesday, the Jets signed the following players to reserve/future contracts: RB Alvin Banks, S Darnell Bing, WR David Clowney, CB Manny Collins, DT Thomas Johnson, LB Jerry Mackey, QB Brett Ratliff, WR Shaine Smith and WR Marco Thomas. Banks, Collins, Mackey, Ratliff, Smith and Thomas were on the practice squad at the conclusion of the regular season. Clowney finished the season on the Injured Reserve list.

News
Jets DB Drew Coleman, who had been active more times than not this season, grabbed his first career interception when he picked off John Beck during the fourth quarter of their 40-13 win at Miami in Week 13. Coleman added one tackle on the day.
Hank Poteat
News
The Jets and CB Hank Poteat have agreed to a one-year deal. Poteat has had some short stints with the Jets and Patriots, even winning a Super Bowl ring with New England.
Andre Dyson
News
The Jets released veteran CB Andre Dyson on Tuesday.
David Harris
News
Jets rookie LB David Harris had a dominant year in 2007 from the University of Michigan. Harris burst on the scene after Jonathan Vilma went down with a season-ending knee injury. Harris was the team's leading tackler most weeks he started, and wrecked havoc while in the middle of defensive coordinator Bob Sutton's linebacking crew. Harris finished the season with a team-leading 127 tackles (90 solo), five sacks, one fumble recovery and two forced fumbles.
Kris Jenkins
News
The Carolina Panthers traded three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kris Jenkins to the New York Jets on Friday for third- and fifth-round draft picks. The Jets then came to terms with Jenkins on a new five-year contract worth $35 million, including $20 million in guaranteed money. Jenkins played in all 16 games last season, but had only 2 1/2 sacks.

Chris Baker
News
As expected, disgruntled Jets TE Chris Baker didn't participate Monday in the team's first voluntary practice, reports the New York Daily News. Baker is boycotting the offseason program because he feels the Jets reneged on a promise to renegotiate his contract. Baker, coming off his best season, is entering the third year of a four-year, $6.6 million contract. He's upset because recently signed backup Bubba Franks is making the same amount on a one-year deal. Baker also will make less than rookie tight end Dustin Keller, a first-round pick. Keller hasn't signed yet but figures to receive a five-year deal for about $2.3 million per. Baker, who has asked to be traded, can't be fined by the Jets unless he misses the mandatory minicamp next month.
Thomas Johnson
Darrelle Revis
News
Jets DB Darrelle Revis played well as a rookie for the Jets in 2007. He finished the season second on the team in tackles with 87 (74 solo) and also added three interceptions, which was second as well. Revis became the shutdown cornerback the Jets have been looking for, as he consistently shut down the other team's top wideout. His games against Terrell Owens and Randy Moss late in the year particularly stand out.

Matt McChesney
News
The Jets have signed WR Frisman Jackson, DE Darrell Adams, CB Alphonso Hodge, TE Joe Kowalewski, DT Keyonta Marshall, DT Matt McChesney and DT Zarnell Fitch to reserve/future contracts.
Kellen Clemens
News
The New York Jets' QB competition officially started with a coin toss. Offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer flipped a coin Monday and asked Chad Pennington to call it in the air. The winner would earn the right to work with the first-team offense on the opening day of organized team activities. Backup Kellen Clemens lost. Score one for Pennington, who spent the offseason hearing trade rumors and wondering what his role would be if he remained with New York. Well, he's still with the Jets - a surprise to some - and hasn't considered whether he'd accept being a backup this year. So begins what's expected to be a summer-long competition between Pennington and Clemens for the starting job. "It's been clearly communicated there's a quarterback controversy right now, an awesome competition," Clemens said.
Shaun Ellis
News
Jets DL Shaun Ellis tied for the team lead in sacks in 2007 with five. It was the second year in a row Ellis recorded five sacks, which is far from his years in 2004 and 2003 when he combined for 23.5 sacks. Ellis also had 49 tackles in 2007, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
Bubba Franks
News
The New York Jets signed three-time Pro Bowl tight end Bubba Franks to a one-year deal Monday. Franks, who spent the last eight seasons with Green Bay, will likely be the backup to Chris Baker. The 30-year-old Franks has battled injuries and his offensive production has slipped the last few years after Pro Bowl seasons from 2001-03. He was relegated to backup duty behind Donald Lee last season. The No. 14 overall pick out of Miami in the 2000 draft had a career-low 18 catches for 132 yards and three touchdowns in eight games last season, but is still regarded as a strong blocker. He has 256 receptions for 2,300 yards and 32 TDs in his career.
Eric Smith
News
Jets starting safety Erik Coleman is doubtful for New York's game against the Giants on Sunday because of a concussion. Coleman, who wasn't in the locker room during media availability all week, started the Jets' first four games and leads the t
