Fred Matua No Updates Eric Scott No Updates Edward Williams No Updates Josh Stamer News The Tennessee Titans agreed to terms Wednesday with linebacker Josh Stamer, an unrestricted free agent from the Buffalo Bills. Stamer played in 70 games in five seasons in Buffalo. Last year, he played in all 16 games and ranked second on the team with 15 special teams tackles. "Josh has been highly productive on special teams during his time with the Bills," Titans general manager Mike Reinfeldt said. "He's an experienced player that will add competition to our linebacking corps." Barry Booker No Updates Vince Young News Titans general manager Mike Reinfeldt says Tennessee wants to continue adding playmakers to help QB Vince Young. Tennessee already has signed TE Alge Crumpler, given WR Justin Gage a new deal and brought back WR Justin McCareins for a second stint. Coach Jeff Fisher fired Norm Chow and lured Mike Heimerdinger back as his offensive coordinator. Now do the Titans start off by drafting a receiver? This franchise has drafted only two receivers in the first round in its 48 previous years and none since Kevin Dyson in 1998. But the Titans could use a speedy receiver to stretch the field, giving Young more room to operate. Eric King News Cornerback Eric King had season-ending surgery on his broken left forearm Monday, an injury that will need up to six weeks for recovery. King had been a key special teams player for the Titans, ranking third in special teams tackles with 11 going into Sunday's 10-6 win over the New York Jets. He was hurt making a tackle on second-and-13 and immediately grabbed his left forearm, but was able to return in the second half. "One of our more productive players, and he was playing very well in the nickel," Titans coach Jeff Fisher said. "Eric could come in as corner and play nickel and really has been a factor all year on special teams. We're going to try to replace him with that type of player." Cary Williams No Updates Jason Murphy No Updates Michael Otto No Updates Kurt Campbell News The Tennessee Titans placed starting middle linebacker Ryan Fowler on injured reserve after he had surgery on his right shoulder, and he will be replaced by Stephen Tulloch. The Titans filled his roster spot by signing Jorge Cordova, who played with Jacksonville earlier this season. They also added Kurt Campbell to the practice squad. Michael Roos No Updates David Thornton News Titans LB David Thornton led the team in tackles in 2007 with 122. He also added one sack, two interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Chris Davis News Titans WR Chris Davis appeared in 12 games in 2007 and had five catches for 38 yards and two carries for 19 yards. Davis was a reserve for Tennessee and spent time on special teams. Rich Scanlon News The Titans signed free agent LB Jeremy Cain on Tuesday and agreed to terms with LB Rich Scanlon, who was last with the Chiefs. Alge Crumpler News The Tennessee Titans agreed to a two-year contract with former Atlanta TE Alge Crumpler, one of many veterans released last month by the Falcons. Crumpler, a four-time Pro Bowl selection, is expected to help an offense that had only nine touchdown passes in 2007. He will get to play with a QB in Vince Young whose mobility is similar to Michael Vick. Crumpler was released Feb. 15 after being plagued by knee problems in 2007, when he had 42 catches for 444 yards and five touchdowns. He was due to count $5.1 million against the salary cap in 2008. Crumpler has 316 catches for 4,212 yards and 35 touchdowns in seven seasons with Atlanta. Chidi Iwuoma News In need of a cornerback to replace Eric King, whose season ended with arm surgery after the Jets game, the Titans signed cornerback Chidi Iwuoma, reports The Sports Xchange. Kyle Vanden Bosch News Titans DL Kyle Vanden Bosch led the team in sacks in 2007 with 12. He also added 60 tackles and four forced fumbles. This was the second time Vanden Bosch had at least 12 tackles (2005) in his career. Biren Ealy News Titans WR Biren Early only had one catch for 6 yards in 2007. He only appeared in four games. Chris Henry News The selection of RB Chris Johnson marked the third time in three years the Titans picked a running back in the first two rounds of the draft. LenDale White was a second round pick in 2006, while Chris Henry was taken in the second round in 2007. White will continue to get the carries, and in 2007, he had 1,110 yards on 303 attempts. Johnson will work in as the backup. What it means for Henry remains to be seen. His lack of productivity and improvement led the team to draft Johnson, who could aid the return game. "We haven't had a change of pace like this," Coach Jeff Fisher said of Johnson in the Tennessean. "We've either had running backs or we've had receivers, but we've never had a guy that can do both, that you can create mismatches with." Matt Mauck News The Tennessee Titans waived 22 players Saturday to reach the NFL-mandated 53 player limit. The following players were released: TE Ben Hall, TE Jamie Petrowski, C Joel Rodriguez, G Cody Douglas, G Mike Erickson, T Brad Rhoades, WR Grant Mattos, DE Sean Conover, DE Tim Thompson, DT Jeff Littlejohn, DE Copeland Bryan, DT Chris Herring, CB Keon Raymond, QB Matt Mauck, FB Troy Fleming, WR Tyrone Calico, RB Quinton Ganther, LB Terna Nande, DB Antoine Harris, LB Marcus Randall, LB Cody Spencer and RB Jarrett Payton. William Hayes No Updates Stanford Keglar No Updates Jevon Kearse News Jevon Kearse, the player cut by Philadelphia in February, is determined to revive his career after a serious knee injury in 2006. It's with the same team in the Titans that took a chance on a player described as a tweener coming out of Florida back in 1999 - too small to play defensive end and too big for linebacker. Determined to prove doubters wrong, Kearse had 36 sacks in his first three seasons, was a two-time All Pro and won Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. That helped him earn an eight-year, $66 million contract with Philadelphia in 2004, when he was too costly for a Tennessee team forced to rebuild by salary cap woes. Now his motivation is proving that he is the defensive end who had four sacks in two games in 2006 before he tore multiple ligaments in his left knee during Philadelphia's overtime loss in Week 2 to the New York Giants. Kearse returned in 2007, but struggled with swelling in the knee. He had only four sacks in 14 games. Now, Kearse says he's feeling fine. Marquice Cole News The Oakland Raiders released third-round pick Quentin Moses, veteran fullback Zack Crockett and free-agent safety Donovin Darius on Saturday as they reduced their roster to 53 players. Receiver Alvis Whitted, who started 15 games last year without catching a touchdown pass, was also let go. The other players cut were: TEs James Adkisson and O.J. Santiago; OLs Jesse Boone, Chad Slaughter, Kevin Boothe and Mark Wilson; LBs Kurt Campbell and Kyle Shotwell; WRs Carlos Francis and Chris McFoy; DLs Anttaj Hawthorne, Josh Shaw and Dave Tollefson; DB Marquice Cole and rookie DB Eric Frampton; and PK Tyler Fredrickson. Quinton Ganther News The Tennessee Titans released RB Quinton Ganther on Monday. Rob Reynolds News The Tennessee Titans waived five players, including linebacker Robert Reynolds, on Wednesday. Also waived were quarterbacks Kent Smith and David Koral, linebacker David Stratton and safety Erik Keys. Jacob Ford News Rookie defensive end Jacob Ford could have surgery as soon as Wednesday to repair a torn left Achilles' tendon. Ford was the Titans' sixth-round draft pick out of Central Arkansas. He was working in an individual drill Monday when he went down.
