It's hard to imagine Ribeiro missing the playoffs because of the flu and Dallas should have one of their top stars -- sorry for the pun -- available. Ribeiro had an uexpected 83 points in 2007-08. The NHL fined Ribeiro and Detroit goaltender Chris Osgood their actions during Game 2 of the clubs' Western Conference final series, according to the Dallas Morning News. No suspensions were issued for Game 3 on Monday in Dallas. (Updated 05/12/2008)

Ribeiro was fined an undisclosed amount for his slash on Osgood, who used the handle of his stick to poke at Ribeiro when he skated past the net. Ribeiro said he felt provoked. "It's not like he accidentally hit me," Ribeiro said. "So if he doesn't do that, I don't think I react. I have no reason to do what I did. ... I think it was more dangerous what he tried to do than what I did."
