Schaefer part of Bruins' final cuts: The Boston Herald reports that the Bruins waived three players, including LW Peter Schaefer, and sent one to the AHL on Tuesday to get down to the 23-man limit. Schaefer, who carries a $2.1 million cap hit, Nate Thompson and Jeremy Reich were waived, while D Matt Hunwick was sent to Providence.

Fantasy Analysis

Schaefer only scored 26 points last season, and that's not exactly the kind of performance teams would want from a guy who will cost them over $2 million. Still, you never know. Schaefer has minimal Fantasy value to begin with, and now he's been cut you can certainly continue to ignore him in most leagues. Thompson, Reich and Hunwick can also be ignored.
