THIS WEEK'S GAME: Boston College at Virginia Tech, Oct. 25 -- The Eagles have a recent history of playing well on the road in loud places, but they didn't do that two years ago at Tech. BC is 2-0 on the road this year, winning at Georgia Tech and Notre Dame and own the only two defeats on Tech's Thursday night ESPN resume.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
RB Andre Callender -- Every week, his workload increases and so does his contribution. With BC receivers getting jammed at the line, the senior has become a top option for Matt Ryan coming out of the backfield.

K Steve Aponavicius -- Last year, this guy came out of the stands -- almost literally -- and kicked two field goals and two extra points against Virginia Tech. In the first football game of his life!

S Jamie Silva -- He leads BC with 55 tackles and five interceptions (three in one game).

ROSTER REPORT
The Eagles lost starting LG Ryan Poles to an Achilles tendon injury that required surgery, thus ending the senior's college career. The team, however, is generally getting healthier.

S Wes Davis is out for the year with a concussion/neck injury.

FB James McCluskey, who has missed the last three games with a knee injury, WR Kevin Challenger, who injured an ankle at Notre Dame, and DT Dom Scafe (hamstring) were hopeful, although McCluskey wasn't listed on the depth chart.

TE Ryan Thompson was listed as BC's starting FB for Virginia Tech.

K Billy Bennett, bothered by back trouble, still won't kick off, with Steve Aponavicius again handling that role and Billy Flutie the backup.

BC is second in the country in turnover margin at plus-1.57.
